Secondly, yes, club loft, a tour ball, grooves on the clubface and swing speed will affect spin. However what? a lot of you ar missing is the key factor and that is green condition. You can have all these factors in place but if the green condition does not allow the ball to grab you will get no backspin. Tour ball, loft, green condition = back spin.

The point of the hands being ahead is to strike the ball first. If you are doing that then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Are you striking the ball out of the middle of the club? That is all that is neededl; a clean contact.

Those are the expensive ones. Most people use the cheaper ones (Me included) which don't spin as much which also means less back spin but also less side spin for slicers and hookers.
