It is really important that all students study Geography at school. Geography not only gives better spatial awareness so we know where things are but deals with the big issues - the only subject that gives the full picture on sustainable living, fairtrade, poverty, renewable energy, migration, urban regeneration, food miles, floods, droughts, hurricanes and hazard management.

when did this air? was it before? the end of 1991?

The soviet union had completely broken up by the end of 1991: the 15 successor states (excluding russian federation) had declared their independence in the course of that year? and were internationally recognized by christmas 1991. The same goes for Slovenia & Croatia. Czechoslovakia did however only split up in the early 1993, but that still precedes the airing of this clip.

no most of those were not sovereign in 1991 and were part of others. (though many exsisted a long time ago and joined other countries in the early 1900s). all the countries i listed kazakhstan to estonia were in the USSR. many after than were al together as yugoslavia. the czech republic and? slovakia were one country of czechoslovakia.

most of the countries you list did actually exist since 1991 and were? recognized - typically american view of geography especially when you take into account non-entities such as transylvania

You should watch an anime called "Hetalia: Axis Powers" and you will see how Germany was two. All the countries are people and it's very stereo-typical but so funny, also? kinda inappropriate... But still awesome!

Interesting to note? that at the end Yakko recognizes Palestine as a country. And in the middle of the song he mentions Korea as one, as both the North and South governments ended the Korean War with a truce but not a peace treaty.
