Buy a MIDI controller like a Mixtrack or anything on Hercules' low? end and fuck around with Virtual DJ. Watch a lot of gig logs and look up ellaskin's videos on YouTube. Record some mixes and send them to friends. Buy some low end speakers and DJ for a friend or something.

thats music production. you wanna learn how to make music then. there are many tutorials out here on youtube. you gotta first get a software like flstudio, logic pro, ableton live, reason, cubase , etc. download the demo's for 'em and play around? and see which one you'd think sorta suits you in terms of being easier .. then buy the full version and get going! :)

I'm kinda into FL studio, I love mixing and I do have turn tables but they aren't great so I use software's on my laptop instead. When I get FL studio I know it's gonna take years to do it but DJ Divine is right, if you have passion for it, go for it, you will love it and I do. I'm planning on making music from FL studio then mixing them? on my turntables... Its great fun :)

great advice?
By: UnfortunateDylan. on 20 Mar 12, 12:57:33
Most people are saying that a musical background isn't needed for this profession. Which is true, but it sure does help. For example, the reason why alot of big names make tracks that excite listeners is because of a basic knowledge of Music Theory. Chords, and what not. Which notes compliment each other. If you are truly interested try taking up the piano, and look for a Music theory AP class at your local highschool. Good luck. Thanks for the video? Dj Divine. It's helpful.
