What a cool job? to have! :D I love history.
By: gumpydoood. on 22 Apr 12, 13:30:50
Getting paid for it in any way mitigates the evil of the practice, either by those purchasing or those selling? The money? involves seems entirely seperate from the moral issue.

. . .? and not much different either.
By: gumpydoood. on 22 Apr 12, 13:26:35
My experence with blacks must be far different? from yours. Blacks have been very warm and kind to me.

nothing like watching a fat sweaty man? talk about food that has flies swarming over it.....yum.
By: Sifjada. on 12 Feb 12, 04:06:06
Good Lord, can we stop with the mutual prejudice and actually discuss what's in the video for once? I LOVE Colonial Williamsburg, I wish I could go back. I've been making johnnycakes lately to reminisce over the? time I spent apprenticing at Claude Moore Colonial Farm some years ago :)
By: YiuTeub. on 12 Jan 12, 07:52:40
Now everyone is a slave. They call it money. It feeds and? houses you just like a slave.
By: Lifecomesfromwithin. on 02 Jan 12, 22:51:10
You mean blacks?? They're still people, and still worth thinking about. Every consciousness is some aspect of All That Is, or Universal energy, or God. Everything has something to offer.

first off, it took u 10 months to think of that to get "even"? second, u obviously dont know what a tribe is. third, you seem hostile. why? fourth, i'm done because this "discussion" was over almost a year ago. really? lame
By: Lee05211. on 29 Dec 11, 20:40:26
Why? Why would any sane person want to be black or give a damn what they think? Most of them are racist, victicrats, perfidous and violent.?
By: Lee05211. on 29 Dec 11, 20:37:37
and every black person? that I have encountered all think alike too. Collective tribalism. I guess that makes us even.
By: Lee05211. on 29 Dec 11, 20:34:36
Your comments are not based on personal bias and not historical fact. It was Arabs and Africans who actually caught the blacks and sold them to the Dutch, Portugese and English and THEY WERE PAID FOR THIS. The whites did not do the actual abductions. Also, the percentage of Jews living in slave states was? miniscule and they definitely did NOT partake of the slave trade as much as Christians and Moslems did. We all still have to show ID occasionally, but that does not make us slaves.

"Dutch? Oven"...uhh...huh...huh..huh.

like it? or not.
By: hisboo911. on 19 Feb 11, 02:22:22
black people were not black, but mixed one way or another. fourth, how does what you said about black people selling black people or owning black people have anything to do with my response to? the idiot below. see, white people ALWAYS ALWAYS do that. "well black people owned each other too at some point or another." trying to minimize the situation. i'm over here laughing (not on purpose though), because i was expecting this. wow. sorry, but every white person i've encountered all think alike
By: hisboo911. on 19 Feb 11, 02:19:59
okay. first off, they were not sold by their own people. they were sold by neighboring/warring tribes, jews, and whites (various nations). just because they were from "Africa" does not mean they were of the same/"their own people." once again, see? how black people are all lumped together? second, there was no such thing as a "free black" when they had to still show papers as "proof" of "freedom" (just like apartheid south africa). third, most of those "free blacks" who "owned" other

"Black" and "slave" are a couple of words that really get things going, even when the video is about FOOD. So, since I know a bit about? this time period, here are a couple of facts that aren't discussed very much. Many of the slaves who were transported into this country were sold to slavers by their own people. Williamsburg and other towns had many free blacks and some of those same free blacks owned slaves.

Oh okay! ;D Have a nice time! I thought you were mostly responding to someone else. I don't mind if you argue. It's interesting. I'm not easily offended. I am white too; you're right. ;p I don't think I'll ever really? know what it's like to be Black, actually, though I think about it.
By: hisboo911. on 24 Dec 10, 21:12:32
HEY. read sonny's comment to me and my comment to him.THAT is what I mean. because both his vocabulary and his statements prove my point about the mindset of every white person I have ever encountered (and many of those I have? not encountered). btw, i am too happy to argue right now, because I am over here cooking for my family, getting ready to spend some quality time together. i am soo happy. i just had to let you know that is why im not really messaging
By: hisboo911. on 24 Dec 10, 21:05:18
you're an idiot. you can A) read my comment below and come away with a piece of knowledge, or B) enjoy your ignorance. And since being an "American Slave" (the fact that you typed this as a title proves my point too) "wasn't all that bad either," then have fun beings one, because, believe me, with the type of brainwashing you obviously have, it's clear that? you are a slave (and it is also VERY CLEAR that your family was one of "slave holders." hear that? holders!! not owners. DUMMY)

This? dude rocks.
By: Lifecomesfromwithin. on 24 Dec 10, 02:05:45
And I'm well aware that Blacks were not inherently slaves. People all around the world made slaves out of eachother in the past. The Romans grabbed some Greeks for slaves regularly. The Vikings made slaves out of any town they captured by burning. The taller African tribes sometimes made slaves out of the shorter tribes. The Persian empire made slaves out of all the neighboring countries they overthrew.? That's how their empire grew. That's how the Roman empire grew too.
By: Lifecomesfromwithin. on 24 Dec 10, 01:58:00
Throw words around? like what? I just said what they explained in the video, that the original owner had a slave cook. That's just what he said, that's all. You asked if he had a slave cook. he doesn't. The original owner did.
By: hisboo911. on 23 Dec 10, 22:30:21
you totally? missed my point. therefore, i assume you are white. okay, so...let me just explain this right quick. its like when people (white, as always) say "black slaves this and black slaves that." like, wtf is a "black slave"? Black people were not inherently slaves by nature. Black people were a people who were enslaved. We dont like it when y'all just throw those words around like that, because it implies a callous nature that gives not thought to the meaning of things.
