Paul is the BEST! I joined Chuck Quinton's Rotary Swing for 1 month and also joined Paul"s program with Ignition Golf and there is no comparison. Paul's Iron Byron methods are much more clear and easy to understand. As Chuck? Quinton"s methods keep changing and are all over the place and confusing. Paul, keep up the great work as my handicap went from a 15 to a 7 within a month of your awesome program. You are by far the best Instructor I have ever had in my 25 years of Golf. Keep it up!

Great video. As? I relax my arms, I often get into a shank mode. At impact, I feel the ball opening the clubface and I hit a shank. What am I doing wrong? How do I correct it.

Thank you Paul, I always have struggle with taking a divot, even though I don't have that problem now. I always thought I fix it by hitting down. But in fact, when I analyzed my swing after looking at you video; You are correct, the firing of the lower body to hit? the ball caused a tilt of my body and with the extension of my arms caused me to change the original address position causing the divot. this was after many chicken wings and killing the ball swings for years :-D

hi paul, i wanted to know why when i'm hitting off of a loose surface; i always scoop the ball? and kick up the sand more than the ball.

By: MrStanleysiu125. on 09 Apr 12, 21:26:02
I had similar situation before when i could take right divot at practice swing while none or fat when hitting balls. My reason was when hitting for real, you got tense, then you did not keep the lag of the wrist by casting the club. After casting the club, you either scoop/sweep the ball, top the ball without any divot. Or if you still keep your head love enough, you would just hit the ground first. So to correct this, you have to try? to keep the lag, look to hit a bit in front of the ball.
By: Dan Scanman. on 30 Mar 12, 12:46:42
Paul, great tip but I have always been told that your hands need to be in front of the club when you set up. Can you comment on the position? of the hands.
By: 59102real. on 30 Mar 12, 09:40:12
Concentrate on? your follow through and getting your belly turned to the target. One more thing that can be causing it is to much body movement, a good trick to getting rid of this is stand on your right leg (if right handed) and take a few shots then go back to your normal address.
By: mick80tlc. on 27 Mar 12, 21:32:14
Hi Paul, I can easily take a proper divot when i do practice swing with out the ball. But when there's a ball, i tend to strike the ground first then the ball. I know my swing is so loose and relax as your teaching says. My question? is, where my eyes should be concentrating when looking at the ball during the down swing? Someone told me to look 1 or 2 inches in front of the ball toward the target path. Please help.
By: DrParkerZhai. on 26 Mar 12, 02:11:08
Paul, Can? you explain the "tilting to the right" for me as well, I have always been confused by the "reversed K body shape" at the impact, is this ok for an amateur to do this or not? The problem for doing this would be causing the weight none succesfully shifted to right and may cause hitting fat shot. Waiting for your reply.
By: michna02. on 22 Mar 12, 04:51:28
Tons of things you can try. Choke down, move the ball up in your stance, elongate the swing and swing a little easier, try to hit iron shots off a tee and then move to the fairway or rough. You could also try to create a bit more of a driver swing. As a 10 handicap you understand the difference between iron swing and driver swing and so does your body. Thinking about the driver swing when hitting irons may flatten your arc a bit and take less of a? divot.
By: hommeeygeeee. on 22 Mar 12, 01:38:05
It sounds like your saying you want a someone to tilt backwards is fundamentally incorrect. This causes you to keep your weight on your trailing foot. I must have misunderstood what you said about "tilting to the right"?
By: chbright1. on 20 Mar 12, 06:07:09
I hit the ball pretty consistently,? but since my divot is so deep my club gets stuck in the ground and my followthrough is abbreviated. I am a 10 handicap, and this issue just recently arose. Any pointers?
By: dschultz6072. on 17 Mar 12, 06:42:14
if you want to hit your irons well you don't want inside out. you won't be able to hit down or get the ball to fly straight. for the irons a little outside-in is the way to go. look it up, trackman data report, the average tour player comes outside-in with their irons. if you try to come inside out? with irons it will either be no divots or fat city.
