love how this comment is so factually inaccurate, yet you make it a point to be so? adamant about grammar!
By: steckleinjr. on 23 Apr 11, 19:25:58
common? according to whom? you? it's not wrong to use your wrists during the takeaway portion of your swing. and by the way, it's anatomically/biomechanically impossible to bring the club up to the top of? your swing with only your shoulders. try to be more factual if you're going to offer golfing advice!
By: ajmurphy21. on 31 Mar 11, 03:25:33
heres also a tip: dont watch rickie fowler and sam snead because those 2 amazing players do/did? EVERYTHING wrong and they have/had the worst swing(s) in golf
By: Gyro911. on 23 Sep 10, 19:15:35
I dont agree with this tip, you dont want to use your wrists during the take away or back swing.the shoulders need to bring the? arms and club up. Thats the common rule
By: Gyro911. on 23 Sep 10, 19:14:09
Its hard to disect the take away and apply since it happens in a split second. The back? swing position has to be right to get a good downswing
By: JRJ8135. on 30 Aug 10, 21:26:09
so what is the tip....how do you take it away on plane if you fight? taking it away too much inside or outside shoulders more? wrist hinge?? come on...TEACH
By: Dreama40. on 09 Jul 10, 15:59:44
I would avoid picking the club up off the ball with the right? hand as he does here if possible you can get into all sorts of trouble, keep the wrists passive they will cock naturally at the top of the swing, ie the weight of the club will cock our wrists, focus one a one piece takeaway and you will be more consistent.
By: ericld11. on 27 Mar 10, 23:46:11
Where's the tip? You just? told us that you can take it inside, outside, or on plane.
By: babyherc. on 20 Jan 10, 21:34:59
I wouldn't rotate the forearms. I tried this technique and it caused me to hit a strong draw which? was unpredictable. I would check your initial pathway as you bring the club back in your backswing. I found that when I focus on bringing the club straight back I have solid contact and a straight shot. When I am pulling or pushing I am usually brining the club head to far inside or outside during the intial backswing phase.
By: brh5934. on 23 Nov 09, 21:42:03
Jacko, if your pull shot is just a straight pull with no curvature you have a square club face at impact, your problem may be in your setup. Check you shoulder alignment and feet alignment at setup; your shoulders may be open but your feet may be setup closed to your target line, causing yourself to swing across your body instead of down the line, make? sure yours shoulders are square/ slightly closed to your target line, your feet square and you'll start hitting straighter shots Cheers
By: storytellermn. on 04 Nov 09, 23:06:13
jacko150278 - The cause of your pulled shots with the mid & short irons could be an inside take away from rotating the forearms too much.? Remember, when you are pulling the ball it doesnt necessarily mean that you are coming over the top, just that the clubface is closed at impact. Work on getting the club head working more up with the wrist in the take away and on the down swing the club more out to the right on the downswing. Please let me know if you have further questions - Chris Foley
By: jacko150278. on 03 Nov 09, 21:10:06
Interesting comment regarding incorrect takeaway resulting in? compensation at the top of the swing. I have started pulling only my mid to short irons straight left 20 yarrds or so. I understand why the ball does this and that I must be coming over the top on these shots. However I am not sure why this has started and how to combat it. Would rotating the forearms so the club is inside the plane line could be the cause? As I have just caught myself doing this.
By: mclovin7110. on 28 Jul 09, 16:35:04
the? club face is closed! when he swings the one that you call correct.
