www.golfinred.com Nick Price and Nick Faldo both demonstrate a backswing that has produced many major championships. This is a great backswing for players with less flexibility and is controlled mostly by the body. The left arm and chest stay very connected with the clubhead outside the hands at the first parallel. This is an excellent backswing to copy. Brady Riggs (redgoat)

I totally agree with you, that is the case with most. However, far too many people think that they hit bad shots due to them looking up too early in the downswing and I can tell you I havnt seen this happen yet. This results in the keeping their head down far too long after the ball has gone, resulting in loss of power due to poor body rotation and further miss? hits.

If you stop this video just past impact on the final example your eyes are focused on where the ball was; your nose points exactly at the point of impact. Stop any pro's swing after impact and as the right arm straightens and you will? find most are still looking at the impact point. The actual difference is in the position of the left hip.

Yes i think most people focus too much on keeping still and not moving certain parts of there body which can definitley inhibit frredom of movement. Like you say, we just have to find something that works for us as we are all different. One of the hardest things about golf is the 'feel' and 'real' element but we are continuing to learn every day. Thats what makes it such a? great game!

it's an interesting subject, and i can see where a conscious thought of keeping? the head completely still would inhibit freedom of movement during the swing....personally i feel that if i don't see the club coming through the impact zone i tend to get a bit inconsistent and have a tendency to stand up out of the shot. that thought may not work for everyone i guess..it just helps me stay over the ball and in the shot a bit longer

I totally agree with you! I would say 99% of all great players eyes are over the ball at impact. However most amateur golfers think far too? much about the head when they dont need to. I am yet to see any of my students hit a bad shot due to them looking towards the target too early, yet most of them have keep getting told that that was the cause. I think the eyes over the ball at impact is good but in my experience it is something that we neve have to think about. Thanks.

most of us know the head moves? behind the ball, then forward in the downswing, but i've slow mo'd nearly all the great ball strikers present and past, and they all appear to still have their eyes over the ball when they hit it and well after, i know people like to say it's an archaic tip now but believe me, great players may have a lateral head movement but they DO keep their head over the ball through impact.........don't believe me, download some swings and look for yourself
