So why would Intel be jerky? I basically traded my amd 925 2.8ghz for a jerky 2600k? What? a fuckin rip!

Try everything on low, walk around some corners and watch the edge whether it moves a bit jumpy. To me it? looks like the classical Intel jerkiness, it's just very noticeable in your setup.

Well, Skyrim started playing just as theycalledmechris described. I'm going to try getting another 8-gigs of vengeance in the same series, and upgrading the board to an ivy-bridge series. This is just a strange problem in? my new rig. Maybe the change in ram and mobo, moving from z68 to z77 will help. At least if anything it will future-proof the build more.

uhm, i don't think? so. I just got a second monitor, and run the monitoring software on the side. CPU usage goes to about 30%.

Is your? CPU maxed out or near ?

I had and now have the same cards as you, only mine's a Gigabyte 6950. I don't get the microstuttuer with BF3 (thank GOD), but I do get it with Skyrim - fixed the problem practically completely by running in window mode, installing a mod that runs it borderless, and set the windowed resolution to my screen's native. Removed all stutter AND fixed Skyrim's inability to minimise properly.. Don't know if this can be applied to BF3 but give it? a go.

Well what worked to fix a lot of it was turning off intel speedstep, c1e, and c6 reports in the bios. That caused the cpu to run at the set clocks all the time. So, it sucks on heat, but it does it? only a few times now. It's still not fixed 100 percent, but its better than it was.
