I always thought that even though it uses? most of the CPU, the graphics card was the most important hardware used when rendering. I guess that's why it takes ages to render something on this computer; I'm still using a AMD Athlon 2700+, lol. Does using a Dual/Quad Core really speed up the process, though? And I guess that's why I had to change all the viewports to Bounding Boxes when using FumeFX, because I was getting massive lag. tl;dr, thanks for the info! Just so you know, ... The only thing the graphics card takes care of is the realtime view in the viewports (so the better the card the more things you? can view at once in the viewport with less lag) Rendering wise though, thats all the CPU.
