Thank you for the ... By: Mathrgenius. on 15 Apr 12, 22:03:25 Thank you for the information. When I interpret music I? usually subscribe to the 'intentional fallacy,' and so I always take music to reach beyond even what the composer or song writer intended the music to convey. Even to Lund, the song may have began as a tribute but then moved into other territory.

Firstest with the ... By: AUG351. on 04 Mar 12, 20:09:09 Firstest with the mostest was what Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest said, he was a great Confederate cavalry general and possibly the best of the Civil War. His light infantry and cavalry tactics were ahead of his time and he was a brave fighter aswell and personally killed over 30 men? with pistol, saber, and shotgun. He was once surrounded with Union troops but he slashed with his saber and shot with his pistol and grabed a yankee soldier as a human shield to escape.

I really like this ... By: bookworm1962. on 07 Feb 12, 05:33:06 I really like this song - thanks for sharing your vision of it's? story. Corb writes a fine song. This is also one of the best history lessons I've ever heard - if we could only learn from all the horror of war so there would be no more reason for the loss of horse or horseman.

This song gives me ... By: Mathrgenius. on 10 Jan 12, 19:43:13 This song gives me a very different impresison of Corb Lund. The lyrics contain more history, and vocabulary than? many popular musicians do in an entire career. The subtle anti war sentiment is also appreciated because I think intially the catchy tune attracts pro war fools. Only to find out the whole song paints a picture of the senselessness of war, but it does it through the contradictions presented in his story.
