Flying the Revolution quad line kite and filming with a couple of cameras, a GoPro Hero mounted on the kite and a Panasonic ZS3 shooting the general action. Towards the end of the video you can watch some footage taken with the on-board GoPro when I tried to approach a giant Astroboy kite while trying not to get tangled with its line.

Nice day for flying, smooth wind from the river, but the light was less than ideal for video shooting, the day seems hazy, but it is really volcanic ash in suspension brought by the wind from the Puyehue volcano on the chilean Andes, more than one thousand kilometers away from Buenos Aires.

Still improving my quad-line technique, today with my full-vented Rev 1.5, the wind was very strong and turbulent, you may notice the camera being shaken by the wind from time to time, as a matter of fact, in one moment the tripod was tipped over by a wind gust and the camera ended hitting the floor, but the smooth grass cushioned it and resulted unharmed.

A somewhat curved spine too. Quite pitchy, very yo-yo friendly, we experimented a while with roll-bars instead of? the simpler stopper and I liked it very much, it simplified the multi-yoyo and the wrapped tricks, it may be released with roll-bars once in production.

This is the first flight of my brand new Light Saber, designed and built by Will Sturdy at Sturdy Designs. I ordered him this UL version of the Saber cause I love the Saber II he built for me a few months ago, and this seems to be as much fun as the Saber II is, just in lighter winds.

It looks like it rolls up? pretty easily for you. Rolling it up right off the take-off, and then unrolling after the 540 is pretty slick. I noticed the off shore breeze, but it does make for a nice shot flying over the water...

By: ghfisanotti. on 17 Jul 11, 03:12:39 I guess it? is just 'cause I'm a little timid with this new kite, anyway, it is not as easy to roll up as the heavier Saber II, I'll try adding some more tail weight, that generally helps me with the roll up on the other kites. On the other hand, the wind was not so good today, it was blowing off shore and that is usually quite turbulent due to the proximity of some buildings and trees. Maybe next video shows more variety of tricks, but the 540 is so nice in this kite....

Here I'm flying a Proteus UL made by a local company, Alto Vuelo. The wind was very light and smooth, perfect "freestyle wind". Temperature was rather low, around 10C, the winter is coming to the southern hemisphere....
Once again, flying the stunning Saber II, it is so good at tricks that it's almost impossible to stop tricking it, a totally addictive kite. Thanks Martín for the camera work.

I wouldn't say it has a "heavy pull", but it's presence is definitely felt at the end of the lines. It flies in low winds, when most of my friends start taking out their UL, I'm still flying the Saber. Anyway, I'm thinking about ordering Will a UL Saber II for those really light wind days.

The Saber II has quite a strong pull for such a tricky kite, you definitely can feel it at the end of the lines.
It is really noisy without the leech line, too much for my taste, apart of the noise, I was concerned about premature wear of the TE due to vibration, so I installed a leech line.

By: ghfisanotti. on 12 Apr 11, 22:22:40 All of the yo-yo based tricks are a pleasure with this kite, I guess the reason is the R-Sky yo-yo stopper shape? and the particular way Will uses to install it in the LE, it doesn't rotate around the LE so it's always in the right position, you never miss a yo-yo and you never get tangled. The wrapped 540 is particularly easy with the Saber because the line never slips from the stopper until you pull to start the rotation. Believe me, I'm enjoying this kite a lot!
