I cut enough for clearance and welded them back to the frame and remaining tubing. The floorboards are not the stock ones. I don't remember what they came off of...bolted up clean tho....were just some old spare plastics at the shop. 2 in spacers. No rub at all. It was a fun little bike to be what it was.
