We Americans with our chains have been bound to the British people and fought together with moral fortitude through some of the worst times of modern history. The English, the Scots, the Cornish, the Irish, and the rest have been our brothers and alies for many years. This is a lovely song and it highlights a wonderful land and its people? W/whom we share a great deal. Except of course, a common language.

Nicely put. And EVERY country/area within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland? should continue to stick together and work together! I Personally think England should adopt this as its national anthem - its excellent. We in Scotland should pick a new national anthem (Flower of Scotland is a little old fashoned - one of the few things I agree with Mr Salmond on LOL)...and we should all keep God Save the Queen to represent all of us :-)

the Cornish may have been a different? race thousands of years ago, but then again so were the Normans in Northern France; are they not now French? the simple fact of the matter is that the Cornish 'race' is now so diluted that there really is not much left of it, they are now as much English as someone wearing a straw hat and school tie at the henley regatta. Cornwall is and always will be a part of England. and this is coming from someone who was born and raised in Cornwall

i? live in Cornwall, and i (along with the vast majority) believe Cornwall is part of England. there are a few Welsh 'wannabees' here who think otherwise but unfortunately for them it will never happen

I've never understood why a country would have a national anthem about a person. This? is a very beautiful hymn and would make a great national anthem.

Look, People need to feel like they belong to something, they need their tribe. We all live on the United Kingdom (all our tribes united). So? the Scottish live here, the English live here, the Welsh live here and even hair-splitting Cornish live here....Just let us have our heritage! If we were talking about somewhere other than the UK, it would be obvious that people are entitled to their CULTURE. Whats wrong with putting that in the history books? Btw 'English' isnt PC...its BRITISH nowadays.

How anyone can say they are "Cornish", Scottish" "Welsh" or whatever amazes me, why?? because today NO-ONE in these Islands can stand alone, there are NO true races, cos we are mixed by many generations inbreeding to become BRITISH, like it or not! sheesh! and the English culture and language prevailed to unite all.

Okay, lets put it in another way, the last person, who only spoke Cornish, and got the language from his parents as it was the Lingua Franca, died in the 18th? century. Its the same with Hebrew (Sort of, it was only spoken as religious language, then the Israelians revived it).
