PLEASE DON'T BE STUPID AND THINK I USE THAT KNIFE FOR ANYTHING BUT CLEARING JAMS, DIS &ASS, AND ADJUSTING THE SITE. I just found an easy way to attach it. I actually have a smaller one there now and its more compact.
thanks for posting ... By: VenusianEvolution. on 09 Apr 12, 21:48:27 thanks for posting this!! keeping bug-fights? alive. it sucs if you don't have a better cam, but u def need brighter lights! One more expected victory for centipedes... that one looks like a really nice Scolopendra polymorpha. Camel spiders or Solpugids are really good food items for polymorpha. Remember, if your centipede's water dries up, it's dead!
That's a pretty ... By: VenusianEvolution. on 27 Apr 12, 13:13:53 That's a pretty nice tiger centipede, Scolopendra polymorpha. These don't get nearly as large as the Arizona giant centipede, Scolopendra heros, but they are respectable. The? biggest tiger 'pede I've seen is named Mortal Sin, a pet of Cacoseraph's. here's his 18sec vid if you want to see this animal's potential size:

Shooting a black powder Pietta 1851 Navy chambered for .44/30. Hard to line up the sights threw the view finder but it looks cool! Never shoot theses without oil on hand btw, the fitting is close and gums up if not lubed.
@reysaint1- To be ... By: Hobbes0331. on 02 Jan 12, 00:45:33 @reysaint1- To be fair I was using rifle powder that leave lots of carbon inbetween the barrel and the chamber. If you have this area properly lubed you shouldn't have problems but I wiped it clean so the? carbon caused the timing to be a little off. I gave it one spray of CLP and it was fine but I should had that done to begin with. And you will know when there is to much build up because when you thumb the hammer back it will be hard and gritty.
@ZombiePowerDrink- ... By: Hobbes0331. on 25 Dec 11, 05:43:04 @ZombiePowerDrink- I like the view but? I did not get to practice holding my bowie knife with my left because I had the camera. The only reason to have a knife in one hand is in case the black powder desides not to go bang or you need to melee up close. In that case I prefer to have the bowie/pistol wip combo.

It reduces? the chances of blood splatter. Watch The Walking Dead on AMC and see how many times this would come in handy, last night it was 12 times I would have use this instead of a gun.

This is the Silver Stag Pacific Bowie in D2 carbon steel. Cutting 4 bottles in half was easy and I will get some better shots of that old knife so you can see there are a ton of similarities.

@sigsoup- About the ... By: Hobbes0331. on 27 Jan 12, 04:47:39 @sigsoup- About the only thing that has been able to turn my blade is cement (some one else asked to barrow it and missed). I have taken it camping and used it as a machete and it cuts threw about an inch of wood per hit. No cracks in the handle and I am rough on it. I really like the Damascus and I am thinking of having a custom Pacific made with it (cost about $400).?

The D2 is very hard and will rust more then stainless but also keeps the edge longer. I use a little two sided smith sharpener because I hate trying to get? that angle perfect and it is just wide enough to use with the Pacific Bowie that I owen.

Prospecting in California. There is a ton of this dust, its not magnetic so I don't think its iron pyrite. I went with a metal detecor and got good hit but the sand was so deep I couldn't find it.
