Right on. Who cares about genre names and all that silliness? That's teenager shit. Metal? is metal. If you must classify it, go ahead, but don't be so goddamned anal about it guys.

It's funny how the only ones bitching about "djent" are the fans. Meshuggah doesn't care at all (they've said that in numerous interviews), they're just? happy that bands are playing what they want to play. Some of you guys need take a hint.

well most genres are based around how the guitars sound. like metalcore is totally different than say technical death metal or prog metal. herp? derp.

god? DAMN this is chill

It's either Meshuggah knows nothing about the Djent thing or that they're accepting it. Either way, fans call it as it is, but it hardly ever is labelled as Djent, just what people like to call it. If you feel uncomfortable with it, then don't call it Djent and call it Prog Metal. It isn't a matter of proper labelling, but rather preference. I prefer Djent, because I like to call? it Djent. And I'm not the only one.

i cant post the link? to what Randy said, but if u go to the ultimate-guitar website, and search Randy Blythe in the news section, it should be the first article that comes up
By: ThrashMetalMan1. on 22 Jan 12, 15:20:36
im not new to this i already know alot about this music. Meshuggah never intentionally invented djent. I can even ask Thordendal? myself if i wanted to. Im just saying it shouldnt be named Djent, it just doesnt make sense. Like i said about calling metallica chug. its all just heavy metal. Randy Blythe from LoG makes an excellent point.

I see. But I did read all your stuff, and? I can say that all that you are is uncomfortable with people calling stuff from what they sound like. But Meshuggah officially created "Djent". It's on the info, Wikipedia or whatever. You oughta search it up first, that's what I did, and although things ain't true all the time, you may be right. You've made a nice point, but this is what it is. It's Meshuggah, they made "Djent". So, yes.
By: ThrashMetalMan1. on 22 Jan 12, 14:13:14
you obviously didnt read all of what i said carefully. I was making a point that people calling Meshuggah "djent" is retarded because its naming a genre after? a sound their guitars make. And then i said its LIKE calling metallica chug metal because their guitars make a chugging sound, and same with what i said about pantera. I obviously made them up, but i never said anything about them being genres. I very well know this is progressive metal.
By: DarqTalonAzel. on 22 Jan 12, 13:51:46
Yeah. Deal with it. :D?
By: DarqTalonAzel. on 22 Jan 12, 13:51:30
Dude, this is progressive. :3 And BTW,? who the hell calls Metallica "Chug Metal" and Pantera "Djeng Metal"? Dude, did you make these up?
By: ThrashMetalMan1. on 22 Jan 12, 04:36:57
i? will give you the fact that it's funny. But thats it.
By: ThrashMetalMan1. on 22 Jan 12, 04:35:44
no because you see, neither this or Meshuggah is "Djent." You can't name a genre after a sound. It's like calling? Metallica "Chug" metal, or calling Pantera "Djeng" metal. Its all HEAVY METAL, and this song is Drum and Bass. So again, No. :)
By: DarqTalonAzel. on 22 Jan 12, 04:27:17
Yes.?
By: ThrashMetalMan1. on 22 Jan 12, 04:10:35
No.?

/watch?v=MKeXh3F3YsI /watch?v=OEbSFBeKLcU These are the best examples of DnB (that's similar) I could find at the moment. There's stuff just like "Quant's..." that came? out around the same time. It's called "Drum and Bass."
By: sabiankid11. on 21 Jan 12, 03:50:35
no. i don't even consider meshuggah "dent." what a stupid fucking word. meshuggah is meshuggah, and all? that shit out there like periphery...thats dent. and it sucks
